Day to Day
Day 1 - Windhoek to Etosha (Namutoni Gate)
Your journey begins with a scenic transfer from Windhoek to Etosha National Park. On the away we will stop in Otjiwarongo for coffee and to gather some last-minute supplies. We enter Etosha National Park through the Namutoni gate. On arrival, you can enjoy lunch at your lodge before setting off on our first afternoon game drive. Grab your binoculars and let’s go. We should return to our accommodation before sunset. After dinner, you can explore a flood-light lit waterhole where you can view wildlife from a facility inside the camp. Day 2 - Exploring Etosha
We will start your second day with an early morning game drive. We should aim to be our way as soon gates open at sunrise. This increases our chance of spotting big cats as they return from the night hunt.
We will continue exploring Etosha westwards, visiting one waterhole to another. Since Etosha is a desert landscape water is quite scarce. As such animals rely on water from the numerous waterholes scattered throughout the park. This makes game viewing easier as thirsty animals must show up for a much needed drink. The large animals that are abundant in Etosha include elephant, giraffe, wildebeest, mountain and plains zebra, springbok, kudu, gemsbok and eland.
Along the way, we will stop to have a closer look at the Etosha Pan. The vast 4730 km2 pan is a start attraction in Etosha. We will spend a night a Okaukuejo Camp. The camp has one of the best floodlit waterholes where you can also observe animals and take good photographs.
