Day 2 - Experience Sossusvlei
Today we will leave our lodge every early so that we enter the Namib Naukluft National Park shortly after sunrise. From the entrance, it’s a 60km scenic drive to Sossusvlei in a tarred road. We will also drive a short sandy terrain to get deep inside the dunes in our vehicle or we can take 4×4 shuttle service. The key highlight here is the picturesque Dead Vlei a white clay pan and its 900-year-old camel thorn trees located below towering orange dunes. Dominant dunes at the area are Big Daddy and Big Manna.
On our way back we can stop at the iconic Dune 45, the most photographed dune on earth. If we still have energy, we can join others to climb up or we can observe and take photographs from its foot. From here, driving back to Sesriem we take a short drive to see the Sesriem Canyon. Only four km from Sesriem, this canyon has been carved out of the landscape by the Tsauchab River

Along the way, you will be awed at how the landscape transitions from vast sand dunes, rock formations to gravel plains. Namibia is indeed a land of contrasts.
We first arrive in Walvis Bay, taking this opportunity to enjoy flamingos sighting at the Walvis Bay lagoon. We will also visit the pink lake and salt works just in the vicinity. We will continue to Swakopmund a town renowned for its German colonial architecture. Dinner will be at a local restaurant and is included in the tour. We overnight at a hotel.
