Day to Day

Day 1 - Windhoek to Sossusvlei

This memorable tour starts from Windhoek to the iconic Sossusvlei. Your guide will collect you for your accommodation by 08:00 and the journey to the Namib Desert will begin. As you set out on this journey, be prepared to be mesmerized by geological wonders of Khomas Highlands escarpment and scenic mountain passes that await you. After 4 to 5 hours we will reach our accommodation perfectly situated to explore the surrounding desert and its many attractions. After check-in you can spend the afternoon relaxing and cooling off by the pool or explore activities offered by the lodge like Sundower dune drive etc.

Day 2 - Experience Sossusvlei

Today we will leave our lodge every early so that we enter the Namib Naukluft National Park shortly after sunrise. From the entrance, it’s a 60km scenic drive to Sossusvlei in a tarred road. We will also drive a short sandy terrain to get deep inside the dunes in our vehicle or we can take 4×4 shuttle service. The key highlight here is the picturesque Dead Vlei a white clay pan and its 900-year-old camel thorn trees located below towering orange dunes. Dominant dunes at the area are Big Daddy and Big Manna.

On our way back we can stop at the iconic Dune 45, the most photographed dune on earth. If we still have energy, we can join others to climb up or we can observe and take photographs from its foot. From here, driving back to Sesriem we take a short drive to see the Sesriem Canyon. Only four km from Sesriem, this canyon has been carved out of the landscape by the Tsauchab River

Day 3 - Sossusvlei to Swakopmund

Today after breakfast we will drive from the Namib Desert to Swakopmund. We will stop at Solitare for refreshments and to have a bite of their famous apple pie. As we drive further, we will cross the Tropic of Capricorn and meander through Gaub and Kuiseb passes. Along the way, you will be awed at how the landscape transitions from vast sand dunes, rock formations to gravel plains.  Namibia is indeed a land of contrasts.

We first arrive in Walvis Bay, taking this opportunity to enjoy flamingos sighting at the Walvis Bay lagoon. We will also visit the pink lake and salt works just in the vicinity. We will continue to Swakopmund a town renowned for its German colonial architecture. Dinner will be at a local restaurant and is included in the tour. We overnight at a hotel.

Day 4 - Experience Swakopmund

You will be free to explore this town for the rest of the day. Swakopmund has so much to offer, there are great restaurants, plenty of shops and beautiful beaches, a good museum, aquarium, there is even a snake park. Various optional activities can also be arranged. These include a boat tour (with oysters and champagne), scenic flights and micro-light flights over the desert, fishing trips (either from the beach or a boat), quad-biking in the desert, sandboarding and skydiving. Your guide will discuss all your options and offer to make pre-bookings. Note that all extra activities in Swakopmund are subject to availability and are made at the client’s own risk and expense.

Day 5 - Swakopmund to Windhoek

In the morning we will visit the vast seal colony at Cape Cross, north of Swakopmund. Here you are able to get up close to thousands of wild Cape fur seals and observe them in their natural environment. Today, on our return to Windhoek, we will pass by the marble and Uranium mines, and visit Namibia’s largest craft market in Okahandja, the administrative centre of the Herero people. Here you can buy hand-carved souvenirs, baskets and jewellery. You will be dropped off at your accommodation in Windhoek just after lunch.
