Day to Day

Day 1 - Windhoek to Namib Desert

This memorable tour starts with a journey from Windhoek the iconic Sossusvlei. Be ready to be collected at 08h00. As we travel from Windhoek, you will be fascinated by scenic mountainous landscape of Eros Mountains and Khomas Highlands escarpment. The Naukluft mountains near Solitaire will also completely take your breath away. We stop at Solitaire to refuel and possibly afternoon tea and apple pie before proceeding to our lodge perfectly situated to explore the surrounding desert and its numerous attractions. After check-in you can spend the afternoon relaxing and cooling off by the pool or explore activities offered by the lodge as we await the big day tomorrow.

Day 2 - Explore Sossusvlei

Today we will leave our lodge every early so that we enter the Namib Naukluft National Park shortly after sunrise. Sossusvlei is located in the Namib-Naukluft National Park, 60km from the entrance. We will spend more time here exploring the iconic Dead Vlei a white clay pan and its 900-year-old camel thorn trees located below towering orange dunes. To get to Deadvlei, we will enormous Big Daddy dune. From the top you have a break taking view of the entire area and you can simply slide down Deadvlei pan.

 

On our way back we can stop at the iconic Dune 45, the most photographed dune on earth. If we still have energy, we can join others to climb up or we can observe and take photographs from its foot. From here, driving back to Sesriem we take a short drive to see the Sesriem Canyon. Only four km from Sesriem, this canyon has been carved out of the landscape by the Tsauchab River

Day 3 - Namib Desert to Swakopmund

After breakfast we will drive from the hot Namib Desert to the cooler Swakopmund. Again will through the desert stopover, Solitaire to strength legs and get refreshments. As we continue the trip be on the lockout for Oryx, Springbok, Zebras, Ostridge etc. We will not miss the opportunity to take pictures as cross the Tropic of Capricorn.  The road will meander through Gaub and Kuiseb passes and after the later you will marvel at how the landscape will transition from vast sand dunes, rock formations to desert plain.  Namibia landscape contrasts are mind blowing

By midafternoon, we arrive in Walvis Bay, taking this opportunity to enjoy flamingos sighting at the Walvis Bay lagoon. We will also visit the pink lake and salt works just in the vicinity. We will then continue to Swakopmund a town renowned for its German colonial architecture. Dinner will be at a local restaurant and is included in the tour. We overnight at a hotel.

Day 4 - Explore Swakopmund

Swakopmund has so much to offer, there are great restaurants, plenty of shops and beautiful beaches, a good museum, aquarium, there is even a snake park. All these can be explored on foot.

Various optional activities can also be arranged. These include a boat tour (with oysters and champagne), scenic flights and micro-light flights over the desert, fishing trips (either from the beach or a boat), quad-biking in the desert, sandboarding and skydiving. Your guide will discuss all your options and offer to make pre-bookings. Note that all extra activities in Swakopmund are subject to availability and are made at the client’s own risk and expense.

Day 5 - Swakopmund to Etosha

After breakfast we will continue towards Etosha National Park. Lunch will be enjoyed along the way. We arrive in the afternoon and enter the south side of Etosha through the Anderson Gate before proceeding to Okaukuejo Resort. We will drive through some parts of the National park in search of various games. We will be at our respective accommodation just before sunset. Dinner will sum-up the adventure and rest will be required so that we can be able to wake up early and fresh for the full day game drive tomorrow. Before going to bed, you can relax at the floodlit waterhole watching wildlife come to drink. Okaukuejo Resort is famous for its flood-lit waterhole where visitors can observe a spectacle of wildlife congregating and interacting

Day 6 - Explore Etosha

The Etosha National Park is Namibia’s premiere game viewing experience; it is home to over 100 mammal species, 340 bird species and 110 reptile species. Larger mammals include lion, elephant, leopard, giraffe, cheetah, hyena, springbok, zebra and eland.  Vegetation ranges from dense bush to open plains attracting a diversity of wildlife.  While we can spot animal while driving in the park, however, higher concentrations are found at the many waterholes found in the particularly during the dry season.  We will spend most of the day doing visiting water holes.

In the heart of the Park is The Etosha Pan – considered the largest salt pan in Africa covering an area of 5000sq kilometres. The pan is mostly dry and shimmering for most of the year, but occasionally fill up with water after good rains attracting thousands of wading birds. We will stop to have a good look of the pan. We return to our accommodation before sunset for dinner. A night-drive can also be arranged at an extra cost with through the resort. This is the ideal way to spend an evening getting up close and personal with the wildlife spotted on these game drives.

Day 7 - Etosha National Park to Windhoek

After a scrumptious breakfast, we head back to the city passing through small towns. Just before reaching Windhoek we will stop over in the small town of Okahandja where we will visit Namibia’s largest wood-carving market. We are likely to arrive in the city at around 16:30 where you will be dropped off at your accommodation.
